Sodalite is a royal blue colored mineral with possible tints of green.  Often, the blue of the mineral is cross-cut by striking white veins throughout the sample.  Sodalite is not a common mineral but can be found in igneous rocks.  Sodalite is a 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs Hardness Scale which has a range from 1 (softest) to 10 (hardest), has a glassy luster and a white streak.  Sodalite is most often used for jewelry, polished slabs and carved ornaments.  Beautiful specimens of sodalite can be found Canada, United States, South America, Portugal, Romania, Burma, and Russia.

We just received a new stretch brecciated bead bracelet for our jewelry selection and I have to say that this is one of the prettiest bracelets I have ever seen!  This new bracelet is made of three connected strand of brecciated stone in mostly reds and browns.  Brecciated stone is a rock which has angular fragments of different rock pieces that have been cemented, or glued, together into a new rock.

The cool thing about the rock is that you can see the various rock fragments and they look particularly unique in the polished beads of this bracelet.  The beads are in the red and brown color families and each bead has multiple colors (shown close up here).
